Rajkot in Sorrow – The City Mourns a Beloved Leader

Rajkot, where Rupani was born and raised. I still can’t believe it. It’s so hard to accept such heartbreaking news. Vijay Sir was like family to all of us. As I have known him since my childhood. This loss feels very personal and heart wrenching.

For Rajkot this is not just a political loss, it’s the loss of someone who had been a part of our lives. Someone who worked for improvement of their party. Vijay Rupani was not just a leader he was also a good mentor, a friend and very supportive person who helped so many poor children for their education and career growth.

In Vijay Rupani’s family he had his wife and two children. They had previously lost their youngest son, his name was Pujit, in an accident — a grief that led them to establish the Pujit Rupani Memorial Trust, dedicated to philanthropic work across Gujarat.

In Rajkot, Vijay Sir’s memories as Chief Minister are still felt fresh. His leadership during time of challenges, he always thinks people’s welfare. I only want to say one thing about him that he was always there when needed him.
